Experience Tai Chi and Qigong as part of Adult Learner’s Week 1 to 8 September 2019

Event Concluded
JinLi Wushu-Tai Chi is proud to be involved in encouraging adults of all ages to "take a leap" and discover the benefits of adult education during Adult Learners’ Week from 1st to 8th September. All our Tai Chi and Qigong classes are open to new students wishing to discover more about these amazing arts.

This year’s theme, ‘What are you waiting for?’ is a strong call to all members of our community to try something new and discover the benefits of a range of activities. People are often surprised to know that learning takes many forms; from a trip to a local art gallery, to starting a new hobby, to learning an art like Qigong or Tai Chi. And although learning also encompasses formal learning through the education system, any activity where you are exposed to something new, can exhibit huge benefits, from improving connection with the community to improving confidence and happiness.

Master Tara Brayshaw said that according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 1.1 million Australians engaged in learning for personal enrichment in their communities in 2016/17, such as learning a language, pursuing a hobby or leisure activity or finding out more about health and well-being.

"During Adult Learners’ week, a diverse range of activities will be taking place across Australia, including here in Melbourne. All of us at JinLi Wushu-Tai Chi encourage you to use Adult Learner's Week as the perfect excuse to take the leap and learn something new, which could have a profound effect on the rest of your life." said Master Brayshaw.

To find out more about how learning could change your life, please feel free to attend any of our classes during Adult Learner's week. Just check when and where our classes are, and turn up.

Adult Learners’ Week celebrates the wide variety of learning possibilities for people of all learning backgrounds, and promotes the learning options that are relevant and accessible to all learners, so everyone can reap the benefits of lifelong learning by giving something new a go.

Adult Learners’ Week is coordinated by Adult Learning Australia, the national peak body for adult and community education. It is a UNESCO initiative supported in Australia by the Commonwealth Department of Education and Training. JinLi Wushu-Tai Chi is proud to be a supporter of the initiative in all it's guises.
